The first experiment shows how the car engine can work with air only, because the compression generates a explosion as the regular fuel that makes move the car and other vehicles... but as always never tell this at the oil extractor or they will start a commercial war 👍🏻

The compression don't generates an explosion. It only generates heat. Without a fuel, nothing will explode/burn ;)

Okay diesel burns when its compressed but the question that i do every time this topic comes out is why the hell you need spark plugs for gasoline if it is more flammable that diesel?.

Vor 9 Monate
The Action Lab
The Action Lab

It’s because the kindling point (the point of spontaneous combustion) for diesel is 256C and gasoline is 280C. So even though gasoline has a lower flash point (it’s more flammable) than diesel its kindling point is higher.

It is possible to convert heat directly into electricity. It is called the Seebeck effect. It's not really efficient but is used in radioisotope thermoelectric generators (rtg's. mars rovers (some of them, others use photovoltaic panels), satellites, etc)).

So why do airplanes need heaters while in the air? Shouldn't the pressure heat it up?

Vor 9 Monate
your mom
your mom

That's how diesel engines work. On the first stroke, air gets in the cylinder. Second stroke, the air gets compressed, which raises its pressure, effectively heating it up. Third stroke, fuel gets sprayed into the cylinder, and because of the already high pressure/temperature from the compression, it ignites immediately.
